for you. Compulsion for innovation has led to a wide variety of
alloys and profiles with an impressive range of applications.
Excellent resistance to corrosion, high strength, ability to take
high polish, superior hot or cold working, superior machinability
and suitability for complex forgings.
Just what the engineer ordered! Precision tolerances, consistency
of product, reliable service and a reputation for problem solving,
all supported by extensive research. Examine the following list
for our range to suit your operations.
ALLOYS
Free Machining Brasses - Widely used on high speed automatic lathes
(with lead added for improved machinability). There are specific
alloys that have excellent riveting properties.
HOT FORGING
BRASS
Suitable for complex forgings where a considerable amount of flow
is required. Retains close dimensional accuracy and freedom
from porosity. Available in hollow forms.
FORGEABLE
BEARING BRASS
Combines high strength with excellent hot forging and wearing
properties, used in the manufacture of bearings and gears.
HIGH TENSILE
BRASSES
(Manganese
Bronzes)
Combines high strength with excellent wear, corrosions resistance
and hot forging properties used for valve spindles, pump rods.
COLD FORMING
BRASS
Excellent ductility and cold forming properties. Used for cold
heading and riveting.
GILDING
METAL
Widely used for jewelry and other decorative purposes. It has
a rich bronze color and good corrosion resistance.
ALUMINUM BRONZES
Used when high strength and good corrosion resistance is required.
Not suitable for complex profiles.
NICKEL SILVER
Mainly used for decorative purposes. Takes a high polish and easily
acquires a smooth satin finish. Good hot forging and cold working
properties available in profile and wire form.
CORROSION
RESISTANT BRASS
Excellent resistance to marine atmospheres, good general corrosion
resistances.
DEZINCIFICATION
RESISTANT BRASS
Resistant to dezincilication occurring in certain aggressive water
environments. Ideal for complex forgings, excellent machinability,
also available in hollow forms.
COPPERS
Alloys 110(HCu), 145(m). 147(CE), 1 16(SiCu)
Used for electrical purposes. Tellurium (145) and Sulfur (147) have
good machinability.
Silver Copper (116) has high strength at moderately elevated temperatures.
