Investment castings or lost wax casting produces repetitive dimensional accurate part Investment Castings minimizing or eliminates machining. Investment Castings process is a metal die where liquid wax is injected into it to produce a high-definition wax pattern. The wax component is assembled in a “tree” and coated (or invested) with layers of ceramic. The wax is removed by heat and the hollow ceramic mould is heated to strengthened. Molten metal is poured into the mould and it solidifies. The mould is removed and the individual castings are cut from the tree, cleaned, heat treated if necessary, ready for machining. This investment castings process uses most metal that can be melted. At a savings of 10-20% Deeco offers stainless, copper alloys, steels, ductile irons & aluminum investment castings.
